Head of the Lipids and Early Detection of Atherosclerosis of the Cardiovascular Institute of Buenos Aires.
Head of the Lipids and Early Detection of Atherosclerosis of the Cardiovascular Institute of Buenos Aires since 2008. Prior to this position he was the Chief of Preventive Cardiology and Early Detection of Atherosclerosis of the Cardiology Department of the Hospital Italiano in Buenos Aires. Between 1992 and 2002, he worked at the Centre for Lipids and Early Detection of Atherosclerosis of Fundación Favaloro. Rey trained as a resident in internal medicine at the VI Internal Medicine Department of the Hospital de Clínicas, and then as a cardiology consultant in the University of Buenos Aires. He also holds a Master in Economics and Health Management from the ISALUD University in Argentina. M.D. Rey is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, a Permanent Member of the Argentine Society of Cardiology and the Argentine Cardiology Foundation´s VP. He is a founding partner and President of the Argentine Society of Lipids and Director of the Council of Epidemiology and Cardiovascular Prevention of the Argentine Society of Cardiology. In addition, Rey has published over 100 scientific papers in national and international conferences and journals.
